Luton Council today confirmed that the Christmas lights will be lit up in Luton this year.
The event will take place on Saturday, November 27 and this year’s special guests are Chase and Marshall from PAW Patrol, who will be entertaining families in the lead-up to the light switch-on by making personal appearances at separate intervals between 1.15pm and 4.15pm along George Street.
Visitors can also see them at the light switch on at 5.30pm. The Luton BID has arranged for this special festive treat.

From 2pm, entertainment on the stage will begin with Luton Youth Rock acts such as Luton Youth Brass Band and Luton Youth Funk Orchestra. More information will be available closer to the event.
On Saturday, November 27, The Mall Luton also opens their Christmas Giving Grotto. The Christmas Giving Grotto will be open every weekend starting November 27 and continuing daily until Saturday, December 18. Visitors to the Mall are encouraged to give back to their local communities by experiencing the true magic of Christmas. Luton Foodbank will benefit from the proceeds.
Visit the grotto to meet Father Christmas and enjoy a gift-making workshop experience with the elves.
Luton Council has announced that London Luton Airport Ltd. (LLAL), has generously accepted to be the main sponsor of the event. LLAL is London Luton Airport’s owner. While it doesn’t directly manage the airport, it plays a key role in its long-term planning. The event was sponsored by LLAL as part of its efforts to increase the visibility of the airport as well as as a thank you for the ongoing support of Luton residents.
Chair of London Luton Airport Limited (Cllr Javeria Hussain): “We’re so pleased to see the return of Lighting up Luton after such a challenging time during this pandemic.
