Disney+ got some Halloween chills on Friday thanks to Star Wars’ universe. LEGO Star Wars Terrifying TalesThe streaming service recently released a new piece of artwork that echoed Stanley Kubrick’s version of the Stephen King horror story, The Shining…with Porgs. As bizarre as it may sound, the bizarre but eerie sight of two porgs standing in a LEGO-built version of The Overlook Hotel’s hallway is nothing short of genius.
The tag line for this is “All work and no porg makes Darth a dull toy”The poster, which is itself a play on Jack Nicholson’s repeated line as a hotel caretaker/author, is not intended to make anyone watch the Halloween movie. However, it is an image that will sell posters by the hundreds and will be sure to join the other iconic artwork from the movie. Star WarsOver the last 40 years, franchises have been in existence.
The official blurb for this new special reads: “The all new animated special from Lucasfilm & the LEGO Group is an annual celebration of the villainous dark sides of the Star Wars galaxy- just right in time for Halloween. After the events of Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker Poe and BB-8 are forced to make an emergency landing on Mustafar, a volcanic planet. Here they meet Graballa The Hutt, a greedy and conniving Graballa who has purchased Darth Vader’s castle and is renovating the hotel into the galaxy’s first Sith-inspired luxury all-inclusive hotel. While waiting for his X-Wing to be repaired, Poe, BB-8, Graballa, and Dean (a plucky and courageous young boy who works as Graballa’s mechanic) venture deep into the mysterious castle with Vader’s loyal servant, Vaneé. Along the way, Vaneé shares three creepy stories linked to ancient artifacts and iconic villains from across all eras of Star Wars.
“As Vaneé spins his tales and lures our heroes deeper into the shadowy underbelly of the castle, a sinister plan emerges.
