PAWTUCKET, R.I.–This year, the legendary BEYBLADE franchise hits the global stage and invites Bladers to prepare for the ultimate battle event at the 2018 BEYBLADE BURST World Championship. Global entertainment and play company Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ.HAS) has teamed with d-rights Inc., SUNRIGHTS INC., and TOMY Company, Ltd. to search for the best BEYBLADE BURST bladers around the globe. They will then bring them together at the BEYBLADE BURST world championship, which will be held at Kidexpo, Paris, France, on November 3, 2018.

BEYBLADE BURST EVOLUTION is the third generation of the BEYBLADE brand. This global phenomenon was created in Japan in 1999. The BEYBLADE BURST brand is still the most popular in battling, with over 10 million tops being sold in its third generation in more than 20 countries (within Hasbro territories). The BEYBLADE BURST Starter Pack was one of the hottest toys in 2017, according to NPD, the BEYBLADE BURST Starter Pack was the #1 item in the Action Figures & Accessories Super category in G9 based on total sales in 2017*. Bladers also enjoy digital battling on the BEYBLADE BURST app, which has seen over 300 million battles since its launch in Fall 2016.
Bladers between the ages of 8 and 13 will be tested in a series BEYBLADE BURST tournaments. They then compete for the title BEYBLADE BURST Champion at the Paris head-to-head contest.

From March to September, there will be a series BEYBLADE BURST national championships across multiple countries where Bladers will compete to represent their country on a global stage. The BEYBLADE BURST World Championship will be held in Paris and the winners from each country will compete for glory to become the BEYBLADE BURST World Champions.
Bladers can practice their skills in preparation for the tournaments with Hasbro’s dynamic BEYBLADE BURST product line, featuring the new BEYBLADE BURST SWITCHSTRIKE tops which allow fans to switch up their striking powers and customize the course of battle. Fans can also download the BEYBLADE BURST App (available in both the App Store for Android and Google Play for iOS devices), and participate in over 300 million online battles. They can test out different top combinations in either head-to-head or multi-player tournament modes.
The BEYBLADE franchise was inspired by traditional Japanese battling tops called “Bei-Goma” and was originally created in 1999 by TOMY Company, Ltd. as a modern battling top system.
